Newsletter

The Medienlinker briefing is a daily email that delivers essential Swedish news, clear explainers and cultural context to readers in Sweden and internationally. Each edition is curated by our editorial team under Chefredaktör Sebastian Lorenz, and you can subscribe using the form on this page or by emailing info@medienlinker.de.

What does the Medienlinker briefing contain?

Every edition brings you a concise roundup of the day’s most important Swedish stories: from riksdagen decisions and government policy to economic trends, cultural developments and societal shifts. Our reporters focus on substance over noise, providing the background you need to understand why a story matters. We also include a daily explainer that unpacks a complex topic – such as Sweden’s NATO integration, housing market changes or new migration rules – in plain language. Special editions cover major events like election nights, budget releases or royal milestones.

How often is it published?

The briefing is sent daily, Monday through Friday, with an additional weekend edition on Saturdays that summarises the week’s top stories and offers a longer read. Throughout the year we also publish occasional special editions – for example, ahead of the Riksdag’s autumn opening or when the Riksbank announces a rate decision. All editions are scheduled to arrive in your inbox by 07:00 Central European Time, so you can start your day informed.

Who curates the newsletter?

The newsletter is produced by the same journalists who write for medienlinker.de. Chefredaktör Sebastian Lorenz oversees editorial direction and approval, while Redaktionschef Melanie Vogt manages the daily newsroom and selects the stories for each edition. Our politics, economy, culture and fact-checking teams all contribute sections relevant to their beats. You can read more about each editor’s role on our Our Team page.

What you can expect from us

Every piece of content in the briefing is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before publication. We use AI-assisted tools only for research, formatting, translation or transcription – never to generate quotes, sources or bylines. A human editor approves every final version. Our editorial mission is to deliver trustworthy Swedish journalism that helps you understand complex issues without spin or oversimplification. Sponsored or commercial material, if included, is always clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed. Commercial relationships never influence editorial choices.
