Medienlinker (medienlinker.de) takes complaints about its journalism seriously. This page explains how to raise a concern, how we investigate it, and what you can expect from us. All complaints are handled in line with our editorial policy and fact‑checking standards.
How do I submit a complaint?
Send your complaint by email to complaints@medienlinker.de. Please include the exact URL or headline of the article, a clear description of the issue (inaccuracy, omission, misleading presentation, breach of editorial standards), and the correct information or source if you have it. You may also attach supporting documents.
Complaints can also be posted to our registered office: Medienlinker Media Ltd., Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000, Malta. However, email is fastest and allows us to acknowledge receipt within two working days.
Who handles complaints?
The editorial team reviews every complaint. Initial assessment is carried out by the relevant desk editor – for example, Alexander Dietrich (Politikredaktör) for political articles or Laura Pfeiffer (Wirtschaftreporter) for economic coverage. If the complaint concerns a fact‑checking issue, it is forwarded to Sandra Mayer, Ansvarig för faktagranskning. The Redaktionschef, Melanie Vogt, oversees the process and ensures a response is provided within five working days.
How do we handle mistakes?
We correct errors promptly and transparently. If our review confirms an error, we update the article, add a correction note, and notify the complainant. Our corrections policy explains how corrections are formatted and where they appear. If the mistake is minor (such as a typo), we fix it without a note; significant factual errors always carry a dated correction.
What you can expect from us
Every complaint receives a fair, timely, and documented review. We will:
- Acknowledge receipt within two working days.
- Investigate thoroughly, consulting the named writer, editor, and fact‑checker if needed.
- Respond with a clear outcome: correction and explanation, clarification, or reasoned rejection.
- Keep a record of all complaints and our actions for internal quality control.
Our editorial independence means commercial relationships never influence how we handle complaints. Sponsored or affiliate content is clearly labelled and falls under the same transparency standards – see our advertising and affiliate disclosure.
What if I am not satisfied with the outcome?
If you believe your complaint has not been addressed properly, escalate it to the Chefredaktör, Sebastian Lorenz (anders.lindqvist@medienlinker.de, +46 8 525 030 61). He will review the entire process, speak with the editors involved, and issue a final decision. This is the highest level of internal review at Medienlinker.
For unresolved issues regarding privacy or data handling, please refer to our privacy policy. Complaints about content that may violate Swedish or EU law can also be directed to the relevant regulatory body, but we ask you to exhaust our internal procedure first.
Questions or concerns?
If you are unsure whether your issue qualifies as a complaint, or if you prefer to discuss it informally first, contact the newsdesk at newsdesk@medienlinker.de or use our contact page. For general enquiries about our funding and ownership, see ownership and funding.
