Werbe- & Affiliate-Hinweise

How is Medienlinker funded?

Medienlinker is funded through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. Full details of our ownership and funding structure are available on our ownership and funding page. Medienlinker Media Ltd., registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), owns and operates the site.

No single revenue source controls our editorial decisions. Commercial relationships are kept strictly separate from newsroom operations. Sponsored or commercial material is always clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed each time they appear.

What are affiliate links and how do we use them?

Affiliate links are special tracked links to third-party merchants. When a reader clicks one of these links and makes a purchase, Medienlinker may earn a small commission at no extra cost to the reader. We use affiliate links only in articles where they are genuinely relevant – for example, in product reviews, comparisons or service recommendations.

Every article that contains an affiliate link carries a clear disclosure near the link or at the top or bottom of the piece, stating that we may receive a commission. Our editorial team never allows the possibility of a commission to influence which products or services we cover, nor how we cover them. The inclusion of an affiliate link does not imply endorsement by Medienlinker beyond the editorial content itself.

Do advertisers influence our editorial content?

No. Advertisers and commercial partners have no control over what we publish, when we publish it, or how we frame it. Our editorial independence is guaranteed by our internal governance rules, which are overseen by Chefredaktör Sebastian Lorenz and the senior editorial team. Display advertising is sold and managed separately from the newsroom, and ad sales staff never communicate with reporters about story decisions.

Sponsored content – content paid for by a third party – is always labelled “Sponsored” or “Paid Promotion” in a prominent position. Such pieces are clearly distinct from editorial articles and are produced according to our sponsored content policy. No advertiser may present sponsored material as independent journalism.

What you can expect from us

Every piece of content on Medienlinker – whether funded by advertising, affiliate income or sponsorship – is subject to the same editorial standards. Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor, and fact-checked before publication. Our tagline is “Nachrichten, Analysen und Hintergründe für Deutschland”, and we serve readers in Sweden and internationally with clear, practical coverage.

We do not accept payment for editorial coverage, nor do we allow advertisers to demand changes to articles after publication. If a conflict of interest arises – for example, if a reporter holds shares in a company they cover – we disclose that within the article or require the reporter to recuse themselves. Our fact-checking policy and editorial policy provide further detail on how we safeguard independence.

How are display advertisements handled?

Display advertisements are served via third-party ad networks and directly sold by Medienlinker Media Ltd. They appear as banners, boxes or interstitials and are clearly distinguished from editorial content by visual separation and labelling (e.g. “Anzeige” or “Advertisement”). We do not allow native ads that mimic the look and feel of our journalism unless they are explicitly labelled as sponsored content in line with our sponsored content policy.

Advertisements are reviewed to ensure they meet basic standards of legality and decency, but Medienlinker does not endorse the products or services promoted in display ads. Readers who encounter inappropriate or misleading advertising are encouraged to report it to our partnerships team via partnerships@medienlinker.de.

How can I advertise with Medienlinker or propose a partnership?

Enquiries about display advertising, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships or other commercial collaborations should be directed to advertising@medienlinker.de. Proposals for content licensing or strategic partnerships are handled by the same team; use partnerships@medienlinker.de for those. All commercial relationships are subject to a written agreement that upholds our editorial independence as set out in our terms of use.

We publish a rate card and audience data on request. Rates vary by placement, format and duration. Sponsored content is commissioned and produced according to our separate sponsored content policy, which mandates clear labelling and a firewall between sponsor input and final editorial approval.

Questions or concerns?

If you have any questions about how we generate revenue, how affiliate links work, or whether a particular piece is sponsored, please contact our editorial team via editorial@medienlinker.de. For complaints about advertising or affiliate disclosures, you can reach our fact-checking and standards manager Sandra Mayer at factcheck@medienlinker.de or complaints@medienlinker.de. We also maintain a formal complaints procedure for more serious concerns. Your trust matters to us, and we are committed to transparent, honest disclosure in all our commercial practices.
